The unit commander of Akugba-Iwaro Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed that three people were injured in an accident, which involved a Dangote truck, a motorcycle, and commercial bus at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba’s main gate on Saturday January 2 2020.
According to an eyewitness, who disclosed his name as Makinde, said the accident occurred around 8:30 AM when a Dangote truck that has lost its control hit a commercial bus also known as agolo that was parked at the roadside.
On witnessing the truck’s scratch on the commercial vehicle by the truck, the motorcyclist and the passenger, identified as a female, flew away on motion to avoid being crushed by the Dangote truck.
The motorcyclist and passenger were both injured after they avoided being crushed by the truck. However, the motorcycle was crushed after it went under the Dangote truck.
Five people inside the commercial vehicle also ran away for their lives when it occurred to them that the Dangote truck has lost its control.
Eyewitness confirmed that the Dangote truck did not wait after the accident, but took the efforts of FRSC members to run after the truck.
The local unit commander of FRSC, who pleaded for anonymity, said the three people injured were taken to an undisclosed clinic for medication.
As of the time of filing this report, the truck is in the custody of Nigerian Police Force Akungba division.
