Sports: Omolara Omotoso: AAUA alumni, African Championship Gold Medalist and Two Times Olympian

In the spirit of celebrating sport men and women that are making Adekunle Ajasin University Akungb-Akoko (AAUA) Ondo State proud, we bring to you a female alumnus of AAUA.

Omolara Omotoso is a sport prodigy, she is one of the many alumni of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba who are making the 21st century university as properly called proud.
She is an athlete who was born in Akure, Nigeria on the 25th of May 1993.

Omolara is a graduate of Health and Human Kinetics, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba.

She is a sprinter who specializes in 400metres, she has represented Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba and Nigeria in several competitions both locally and internationally.

Personal and Team achievement:
She won a Gold medal for AAUA in the 400 metres women’s final in the 24th edition of the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) 2014 hosted by OAU.

Omolara was part of the Nigerian 4×400m Women’s relay team in London 2012 Summer Olympics.

She grabbed a Gold medal in the 2012 African Championship in Porto Novo, also represented Nigeria at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland in 2014.

Omolara also appeared for Nigeria at the All African Games, Mozambique in 2011, World Championships in South Korea 2011 and also the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Her personal best was in the 2012 Summer Olympics when she had 51.28 seconds in the event.
