One Mic is a social event recognized in AAUA as a foremost show that brings entertainment to the students. The event, which holds twice a month, is set to hold soon courtesy of the big-name entertainment brand in AAUA, South West Gate (SWG) Entertainment in collaboration with the Student Union’s Social Director.
The stand-up entertainment show, scheduled to hold every 2nd and last Friday of the month, has eased the stress of class and academic activities out of students in AAUA, particularly students who cling more to social happenings.
In interviews gathered by AAUA INSIDER, students have expressed their thoughts on the essence of the event.
A female student who would rather prefer to be called Ola Gold said, “This is a talent showcase and it gives students the ability to showcase their talents. Through that, they could get better connections in following up their talents and not letting them waste.”
“Besides, it is an alternative which is second to academics. It also gives room for students to have fun after a long stressful week.”
For Johnson Ayomide who describes himself as an extrovert, he said that he is expecting more of rebranding and sponsors, from organizations with same vision like laughs, dance group and using the One Mic as an audition
