Multiple gives report on NANS Security Summit

The President of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Kolade Olumide Ogunsanmi, known as Multiple issued a brief after the completion of NANS National Security Summit held in Abuja.

The brief from the National Association of Nigerian Student (NANS) was sent to AAUA INSIDER by the President of the Union.

On 4th of November I had the privilege to attend the National Association of Nigeria Student (NANS) National body security submit held at Merit house Maitami, Abuja.

The Summit became expedient in the face of rising security challenges that has affected Nigerian Students the more. A workable communique will be sent to the Federal and Sub-National Governments, as well as all security chiefs for consideration and necessary actions.

The NANS Security Summit is a bold expression of our dissatisfaction with the poor security arrangements in Campuses, and the high level of security breaches across Nigeria.

Nigerian Students can no longer be kidnapped and killed without being accounted for by the same people they elected to protect them.

It is the belief of the NANS Senators (All SUG PRESIDENT IN NIGERIA) that the outcome of this Summit will address the porous security situation in our campuses, and the Nation at large.

The Summit had in attendance the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, the Minister of Youths and Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare, the Minister of Communications and digital economy, Prof. ISA Ali Pantami, representatives of the Governor of Ondo, Ekiti, Sokoto and Nassarawa states.

The Summit also had in attendance all the heads of Security agencies in the country. The Army, Navy, NSCDC, Air force as well as the chief of Defence Staff.

Hon. Shina Peller led other youthful members of the House of Reps as well as assistants to the Governor of different states on youths and students matters.

Professor Nnena Oti, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri delivered the lecture while all heads of Security agencies have keynotes and goodwill messages.
