Israel Adesanya wins Fighter Of The Year at World MMA Awards

New Zealander-Nigerian mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya has been named Fighter of the Year for 2020 at the World MMA Awards.

The UFC Middleweight champion who won the award for 2019 defended his title twice in the calendar year, beating Yoel Romero and mauling Paulo Costa to extend his unbeaten record to 20-0.

Adesanya is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world of mixed martial arts having won six performance-of-the-night accolades in seven fights.
