In today’s world, a good night rest in has become something of indulgence. Many people with sleep disorders sleep for an adequate amount of time but not enough sleep to feel well rested and refreshed in the morning.

Sleep disorder is as a result of symptom of an underlying medical condition.

Sleep Disorder is the condition that prevent one from sleeping well on a regular basis. Occasional sleep disturbances such as stress and a busy schedule may interrupt your sleep.If your sleep is disturbed regularly, it can result to sleep disorder.

Sleep is as important to your physical and mental health as food and water. The body needs sleep to maintain critical body functions, restore energy, repair muscle tissues and allow the brain to process new information.

When the body doesn’t get enough sleep, it can result to sleep deprivation and sleep deprivation causes a range of mental and physical problems including impairing your ability to think clearly, focus, react and control emotions which can be a serious problem at school and home.

Insomnia: A condition where you experience difficulty in falling asleep.

Sleep apnea: This is sleep disturbance that occurs when the airways get blocked repeatedly while sleeping.

Sleep quality is as important as sleep quantity. Interrupted sleep can lead to symptoms such as: Excessive daytime sleepiness, snoring, sleep deprivation, insomnia, dry mouth and headache.

Good quality sleep can reduce short term issues such as fatigue. It also reduces risk of depression.

Establish a routine: Having a regular bedtime and sticking to it can train your body to get better sleep.

Cut out caffeine: Even if you only drink caffeine during the day, the stimulant will keep you from getting your eye shut at night.

Adjusting your busy schedules and activities may also prove beneficial.
