UPDATE ON THE MEETING HELD TODAY (Thursday July 1st)
The leadership of the Union and some students stakeholders earlier today met with the Dean Of Students Affairs to discuss germane issues as regarded the circular released yesterday, below are demands itemized in the meeting.
We agitated for postponement of examination date, as some departments are not done with lectures, and examination is supposed to come after the timetable has been out two weeks to the stated time.
Further, we requested that students who haven’t completed their registration for the session shouldn’t loose the session. Since there is an existence of backend registrations already of which a fine of 2000 naira is attached. Hence, the management should not use Forfeiture as penalty for students in such categories because most parents of affected students are civil servants who are being starved of salary.
In addition, we also show our displeasure over the aggressive and anti social attitudes of those working at the ICTAC ,there was also an agitation for the students union election
Thus, we implore all students to be law abiding and await feedback from the University management on our request, as for now examination still starts JULY 5 until postponement is approved and announced by the university management. Hence, Examination have not been postponed.
Finally we advise all students to pay up their tuition fee and complete their registration as soon as possible as the portal is now accessible and those having issues can report to any Student Union members.
