E-Connect AAUA set to launch mobile app

A leading techmedia brand into information, marketing and business in Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), E-Connect is set to launch student-based mobile app. The app, which is named after the brand — E-Connect AAUA — was earlier known as Project-X.

Undoubtedly the biggest event of the year, E-connect AAUA led by the famous, but anonymous “Robot” have put out a date for the launching of a mobile app “E-connect AAUA,” slated to hold on May 20, 2021 at OBJ Multipurpose hall.

The special guests of honour at the mobile app launch are the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Francis Gbore and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Olusegun Owolewa. The event will feature the show, live performance, comedy, free internet, giveaway and other side attractions. 

In an interview with AAUA INSIDER in November, 2020, E-Connect said the app will house numerous features that would make the student life of AAUA students easier and allow a student user connect with fellow students across departments and faculties in AAUA.

One of the major aims of the E-Connect brand is to keep each and every student updated, in line with its tag line “Never drops a student.”

Prior to the development of the mobile app, the student populace of AAUA are updated on a daily through the medium of WhatsApp. Updates are placed on the E-connect status for students who have access to see. It has become a common occurrence among students of AAUA to say “If E-connect never post am, I no go believe.”

Speaking to AAUA INSIDER ahead of the launch, Robot answered the pressing question about his identity saying; “My identity is not the product we want to release. Although, I might be present but it’s not time for unveiling yet.” So there you have it, he will still remain anonymous.

According to E-Connect, he said some of the challenges faced while building and designing the app is hiring familiar programmers.

“We decided not to use familiar programmers due to reasons best known, so we had to hire a programmer and that caused us to face some financial challenges, but greater achievement requires great sacrifice, we were able to overcome that. Also we faced some challenges in implementing some of the features of the app, as it requires special permission, and also some things were beyond us, so we just sourced for close alternatives to solve them.”

The Robot added that the mobile app will be available for Android and iOs, “The app will be available on all stores when we release it. This is a plus because it’ll be available to all Android and iOS version mobiles.”

On needing support from the student populace, he had this to say, “Yes, we need their support in turning up for the event in large numbers.”

Wondering why this mobile app is the best thing to ever happen to AAUites? Here are some features of the app and problems it will solve for the average AAUA student: Automatic access to information. Admin access will be given to people like registrar, union PRO, so they can post news whenever there is a new update

Students can easily post about what is trending around them, just like Twitter. Teaching Practice students can easily check where they are posted to for TP. Admin access will be given to the TP committee so they can upload their names.

Links to AVERS and e-portal will be provided, saving students the stress of trying to remember each URL, FAQS about school have been answered in a section of the app, Provides accurate directions, especially to freshers. The image and description of each location will be provided, legitimate businesses will be allowed to put their business on the app for FREE.
