Amidst fuel scarcity that has caused an increase in transportation price hike, Comrade Adekanye Mayomi Adeboye, popularly known as INEC and Comrade Ogidan Oluwafemi also known as Peter Pan visited the NURTW office in Akungba on Tuesday.
Comrade INEC, Peter Pan, Penlord and Ylite had a dialogue with Lagos Park Chairman, Mr Atenu to reduce transportation price for students that will be travelling home after the first semester examination.
Report has it that fuel scarcity has caused hike in transportation. According to Comrade INEC, the transportation was increased to N5000 from Akungba to Lagos, while Akungba to Ibadan was increased to N3500.
However, in a statement sent to AAUA INSIDER, the price agreed after the dialogue was N4000 to Lagos and N3000 to Ibadan to ease the travelling of AAUA students.
The journey did not end at the Lagos Park, as the four comrades headed to Abuja park and met with their Chairman known as Mr Adugbo.
At the Abuja park, the price from Akungba to Abuja was N5000, which was later reduced to N4000.
At the Akure park, the drivers reduced to reduce the transportation price to N1000. However, they promised to charge commuters for N1500 to Akure from Akungba.
However, Akure Park chairman, Mr Omotomo said he will update the comrades if there is improvement on the fuel scarcity.
After the agitation, Comrade INEC urged students travelling to carry their ID cards to the car park for identification.
