Popular student leader, Adekanye Mayomi Adeboye also known on campus as INEC, together with Comrade Edokpayi Sunday Enitan both paid a visit to Abuja and Lagos NURTW parks Chairmen on July 29 2021 to discuss transit fee reduction in other to ease students’ journeys back to their respective homes.
In the meeting, it was discussed that the NURTW should kindly consider the students’ populace by reducing the travelling fee from Akungba to Lagos/Osun/Ibadan and from Akungba to Abuja as students will be traveling back to their various homes as soon as they finish their examinations.
However, the Akungba-Lagos chairman, Mr. Okiki agreed to deduct “Five hundred naira” from the initial N4000 naira, meaning that, the new transit fee now is N3500 and also to students going from Akungba-Ibadan from the initial N3500 to N3000, while that of people moving from Akungba-Osun remains N2000.
In the same vein, the chairman of NURTW, Abuja park Mr. Ariwo also succumb to deduct N500 from the initial amount, which was N4000 as well, which now makes the new transit fee from Akungba-Abuja to be N3500.
And these changes are to be effective as from Monday 2nd of August 2021, while students travelling from Akungba to their various locations are enjoined to take a bus from Abuja car park and Lagos car park so as to benefit from these new changes.
More importantly, students are to come together to the car park with any means of identification while travelling, so as to aid instant identification by the NURTW drivers as bonafide students of AAUA.
