Depending on the recipe, most bolognese sauces are based on tomatoes and tomato paste, chopped onions, seasoning, and maybe some other diced vegetables too.
These ingredients are rich in a number of vitamins such as vitamin A and are also a good source of antioxidants – for examÂple lycopene from tomatoes.
This is a simple Bolognese Sauce. This is not the original way of making it, I added my own style and I absolutely love it.
INGREDIENTS
1 – Minded meat
2 – Onions
3 – Fresh tomatoes
4 – Believe peppers
5 – Carrots
6 – vegetable oil
7 – Tomato paste
8 – Garlic paste (if available)
9 – Seasoning (salt, curry, thyme, food seasoning), you can add other seasonings if you wish.
PROCEDURE
Pour the oil into a pan and allow it to heat up slightly, then add the minced meat and crumble it up immediately. Season lightly with scotch bonnet pepper otherwise known as fresh pepper, then add some seasoning cube to it and salt. Mix\stir fry until the minced meat is brown
Take it out of the pan and place it on a plate. In the same pan, heat up some oil then add onions stripes, chopped fresh pepper, then add tomato paste. Do all these while stir-frying.
Then pour in the blended tomato paste. After that stir together. Season with curry, thyme, salt, and season cube to taste.
Cover the pan allow to simmer for 7 – 8 minutes. Then add the cooked minced meat and stir together. Then cover and leave to simmer for 10 -15 minutes, before that add enough water so as to avoid drying up and burning.
Then add the diced carrots and leave them to soften for 3-4 minutes. After that add bell peppers (these are optional, you don’t need to add them if you don’t want them). Allow cooking for some minutes. Then it is ready o eat. Serve with rice, spaghetti as you wish.
