The department of Biochemistry football team has won the 2021 edition of the Faculty Of Science Dean’s Cup, also known as the NASS Dean’s Cup after winning 4:3 in the penalty shootout to defeat Computer Science football team.
The win comes two days after Biochemistry 100 level football team won the Fresher’s Ruby Cup.
Ologbon Nuel opened the scoring for Computer Science 3 minutes in to the encounter before Yekeen Toheed equalized for Biochemistry in the 35th minute.
However, Aboyinbogun Oluwadunsin put Biochemistry in the lead for the first time in the match in the 60th minute before Jimi Okikiola leveled for Computer Science in the 80th minute.
Biochemistry’s goal towards the end of the match was ruled out as a goal-kick as the referee claimed the ball crossed before Biochemistry player made the crossing out.
The match ended 2:2 at regulation time, Computer lost two of their penalties while Biochemistry lost one, Olalee scored the winning penalty for Biochemistry.
Biochemistry won 4:3 in penalty shootout.
Speaking after the game, the department of Biochemistry staff adviser Mr O.E Ekun, congratulated the players on their victory.
