Akungba Accident: AAUA management, Ondo State government visit families of victims

The Ondo State Government and management of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, together with the Student Union, paid a condolence visit to the families of victims involved in the recent ghastly accident in the community.

An auspicious student and journalist, Adesola Ikulajolu via a Facebook post on his personal account, made this known.

Recall that a fatal accident happened after a Dangote truck conveying bags of cement rammed into shops at the University school gate. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, January 23, 2021, claimed the lives of students and residents of Akungba.

The visit, which commenced on Friday, February 5, was to console the families of the victims that lost their lives to the unfortunate accident, which claimed lives of students and residents of Akungba town.

The Ondo State governor alongside his entourage, which include; Hon Adefarati Adegboyega, the Commissioner for Agriculture; Hon Muyiwa Ogunyemi, Senior Special Assitant on Youth and Students affairs;  Rt. Hon. Victor Olambitan, Special Adviser on Political Matters.

From AAUA, the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Olugbenga Ige, the Dean, student Affairs, Dr. Olusegun Owolewa and other management staff represented the university management. 

The Student Union representatives include President Oluwasegun Obagunwa in company of the General Secretary Taiwo Joel to represent the entirety of the Student Union.

The families of the victims really appreciate the move taken by the government and pray that such calamity will never happen again in AAUA.
