AAUASU commence registration for formation of women football team

The office of the sports director of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Student Union(AAUASU) have announced the commencement of registration for the formation of a women football branch of the AAUA football team.

In a press statement signed by the AAUASU Director of Sports, Comrade Jackson Oluwafemi and made available to journalists on Saturday night, comrade Jackson urges interested female students willing to participate in the selection process for the starting up of the team to contact the AAUASU director of sports’ office for registration.

It was also disclosed that the team is expected to participate in the forthcoming Higher Institution Football League(HIFL) for women, the first-ever of its kind in the history of the competition.

COMMENCEMENT OF THE FEMALE FOOTBALL TEAM TRAINING AND REGISTRATION

Solidarity greetings and sundry in oneness and camaraderie from the above office to every distinguish AAUAITES.

The above office want to gladly and openly announce to the public that the school management has approved and registered the female football team to come to live in the institution and also registered them to partake in the coming Higher Institution Football League ( HIFL 2022) coming up in three months time.

However, this wouldn’t have been achieved without the support of some distinguished sports comrade that have make it their priority to support and walk with me in fighting for the approval and also in the creation of the team that has now come to stay and stand forever.

Distinguish AAUAITES, the platform is now open for interested female students to join the other female students who are ready to take the task in representing the institution both home and diaspora. Female students who are ready, who have the passion and interest to play for the school and to represent the institution in the coming HIFL NIGERIA 2022 should message the number below in order to be added to the group created for the female footballers.

Therefore, take note that training for the team still continues. Training session start on Monday 28th February, 2022 by 10am at the AAUA sports complex. Please take note that discipline and commitment is the motto of the team.

The men football team of the institution, AAUA Luminaries made history last year by becoming the first state-owned institution to qualify for HIFL Super4 but were eventually defeated in the final by the University of Maiduguri’s Desert Warriors.
