An auspicious student of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ikulajolu Adesola of Mass Communication department wins big at the annual Campus Journalism Awards 2020.
At the event held on Saturday December 12 in Abuja, Mr Adesola won the Best Editor (Online Newspaper) award for his immeasurable impacts as the editor of Echo media, a local organization on AAUA campus.
Ikulajolu Adesola and Olufemi Damiola made it the 30-man list of Best Campus Journalists alongside other outstanding campus journalists in Africa. Mr. Adesola Ikulajo was also shortlisted as a finalist for the Campus Journalism Awards in 2019.
The organizers of the award programme, News Digest took it as a point of duty to create a platform for campus journalists to grow, and in the nearest of future take over the newsroom from the old journalists.
It also resonates with the purpose of creating a platform like AAUA INSIDER on AAUA campus to amplify the stories—good, bad and ugly—of AAUA students.
After receiving the award, Adesola in a Facebook post appreciated God and those contributing to his growth.
“I’m grateful to God and everyone who is contributing to my growth.
“This doesn’t make me the best – it is only a path closer to do more for humanity especially the growing generations.
“This is a proof of how you all have been pushing me to do more.
“Everyone is a WINNER”.
Adesola Ikulajolu, a final year student and the convener of AAUA Social Media Festival, is one great mind making AAUA proud. This new accolade is one of the many he has received as a student of AAUA.
A hearty congratulations to Mr. Adesola Ikulajolu.
