A student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko has survived getting carried away following the heavy rainfall today, AAUA INSIDER can verify.
Due to this heavy rainfall that occurred today, students lamented that the school management has refused to look into the issues affecting them negatively.
The victim, who spoke on anonymous ground, narrated how she fell victim to today’s heavy rainfall.
She said, “My eyeglasses got broken some days ago, so I decided to visit the eye clinic along the Ibaka area. Immediately I got to the Chicken Rep area, I was about to move forward not knowing that there is gutter ahead.”
“That was how I fell inside and was carried away for some minutes. I’m thankful to God that I was rescued though I can’t recognize the person that rescue me. Aside from my phone which is no longer functioning and my BioData that was wet, I suffered no casualties.”
Her roommate, who also pleaded for anonymity, urged the reporter to be thankful to God that her roommate is alive.
Students condemned the incident, describing it as critical and attention-demanding. A victim pleaded that the management, under the leadership of Prof. Ige, should channel the drainage for easy erosion flowing.
“I’m not sure maybe this will lead to a reopening of the main gate but we implore the management to look into the necessary things because more heavy rains are still coming”, he said.

The management should take adequate preventive measure as more rain will teem in year 2022.
