#SaveAAUA: One Dead As Accidents Rock University Community

A graduate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, identified Micheal Akinniyi, has been declared dead after a fatal accident in the state.

As gathered, Akinniyi, a graduate of Business Administration, was crushed by a truck at about 21:53pm at Ramosa junction, close to Okusa market and died on the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver involved in this incident drove off after realizing the victim was dead.

Students of the institution, who witnessed the accident, narrated that the deceased was on his way to a cyber cafe to complete the process for clearance when the truck skid off the road and knocked him down.

The deceased is said to have completed his academic exercise in 2017 but due to unresolved issues, he could not be cleared.

However, Student Union bodies like National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), Owo local government student union (OLGASU) and others have all decided to move their secretariats to Akungba-Akoko where a peaceful demonstration will be hold.

The Student Union under the leadership of Comrade Kolade Ogunsanmi (Multiple) has urged all students to join the peaceful demonstration and that further directives will be given. In a statement released by the union, It says

“However, at this stage, we as a Students’ Union body is compelled to invoke the last 3C of aluta(confrontation) in furtherance of bringing our demands to implementation with immediate effect.”
