The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, has on Monday, November 22 ordered the indefinite closure of the institution after a ‘violent’ protest by the students.
This was made known in a circular obtained by AAUA INSIDER. In the circular, students were therefore advised to vacate that Halls of Residence and the University campus.
The circular read in part, “Following the violent protest of students of Adekunle Ajasin, University Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, today Monday, November 22, 2021, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga E Ige, has, on behalf of the Senate of the University, directed that the University be closed indefinitely.
“All students are, therefore advised to vacate that Halls of Residence and the University campus with immediate effect.”
Our reporter observed that a protest of this nature occurred in 2019 where 200 level students were hindered from writing their Computer Based Test (CBT) without payment of Tuition fee.
