The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, has approved Wednesday and Thursdays as public holiday to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr day.
This was made known in a circular released by Gbenga Arajalu, the school registrar on the 10th of May, Monday.
Earlier, the federal government has announced Wednesday and Thursday as public holiday to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr.
The registrar made it known that the acting vice Chancellor, professor Olugbenga E. Ige has ordered the school to be closed from Wednesday 12th to 13th except those with essential duties and will resume work on Thursday 14th may, 2021.
The circular reads, “I write on behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Professor Olugbenga E. IGE, to inform all members of staff and students of the University that the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, 12th May, 2021 and Thursday, 13th May, 2021 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
“The Acting Vice Chancellor has therefore directed that the University be closed for official duties on Wednesday, 12th May, 2021 and Thursday, 13th May, 2021 except those on essential duties. All members of staff and students are requested to note that official activities resume on Friday, 14th May, 2021.”
He concluded by wishing the entire Muslim and the student populace a happy holiday “On behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor, I wish our Muslim brothers and sisters and the entire members of staff happy and peaceful holiday.”
